Is a stickler for the rules and will do whatever it takes to catch a criminal within reason. He is protective of his friends and family. Dislikes the fact Black Jack is unlicensed and tried to arrest him in the anime. However, by Black Jack 21, we learn this is because in the past an unlicensed doctor operated on the son and it was a failure. However, when his son contracts pagan disease and Black Jack manages to cure him this time, the detective becomes a supporter of him. This extends to the OVAs where his threats are empty and more playful and he seems to see Black Jack as a friend.
